Spin Rush |

Back in late February I wanted to play through a few quick games. After a couple of dubs, I installed a bright and colourful one called Spin Rush. I think my first attempt lasted 4 seconds.
Overall there's not a huge amount to say about this one. It's an action puzzle game where you rotate ('spin') a cube in order to match it up with a falling coloured circle. All set to a pumping soundtrack.
NO, really. This is it. And It's a really bloody good variant of this genre too!
In the base game, the circles fall slow enough to not be a challenge. You tend to end up failing when your attention slips. It's also the introduction of the bonus modes.
Every so often the gameplay will shift for a few drops, then return to normal mode. If it ever does change from Mode A to Mode B to Mode C, I never saw it happen.
They're all easy enough to understand. And the further you get in to the game, the more points you get to level up and unlock playing them solo. This does make the game a bit of a grind, but exp/levels also work on the bonus modes, and maxing it out can be done in about an hour.
Fast mode starts normally but increases gradually in speed. HEX mode changed the cube into a hexagon, giving you 6 colours to deal with. Word mode forces you to connect circles, not on their colour, but on the work within the circle, consider blue yellow red and so on. Time has a falling timer, forcing you to rotate to an off-colour and back as circles fall. Flip causes the cube to move to the top of the screen, changing how it rotates.
And then there is Trip.
Trip can burn in hell.
Colours randomly shift around and the screen becomes a chaotic mess. It's no wonder the achievement related to it is a really low score.
In short. It's a colour matching puzzle game.
I enjoyed it.
