The idea for this site started on twitter to play through a game in just short of an hour and a half.

Giving myself 4 minutes to check the settings, learn the controls, and if needs be, troubleshoot the game before playing. I either used a timer/stopwatch, in game timer, or the steam overlay. Tweets were then posted as "First 86 Minutes: <game title>".

As we passed Year 1, the scope of what I'm trying to do here has expanded and First 86 Minutes has become F86M.

The core idea is still the same, and many indie titles I no longer spend more than 86 with. But I'm now open to looking at titles that take longer to get through. Early impressions are going to count for a lot of thoughts, though the game may keep me playing before I write something up and move on.
